CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS
Police officers serve the public and must respect the public’s rights, even the rights of those being arrested. Police officers face challenges everyday which can make their occupation difficult. Mistakes will happen, but we must hold officers accountable for them. Each year there are half a million reports of brutality by law enforcement. The use of excessive force is also a direct violation of the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution regarding cruelty and protection of the laws.
